The conference will start with a welcome reception (food and beverages) on the evening of Sunday September 11th.
The conference dinner will be preluded by a cable car (sorry, page in German only) drive to the top of the highest Black Forest mountain, Feldberg (sorry, page in German only). Magnificant views of Black Forest and the Alpes (allow javascript popup) will be enjoyed during a reception on the 11th floor of the Feldberg tower. After a downhill ride with the cable car a four course dinner featuring local specialties (including beverages) will take place in the hotel Feldberger Hof.
We will visit the renowned Rothaus brewery (sorry, page in German only) by bus (~30 min drive), passing by the beautiful Schluchsee lake on our way.
After a guided tour of the brewery a Black Forest snack will be served accompanied by beer tasting.
The most famous beer from Rothaus brewery is the "Tannenzäpfle", which coarsely translates into "pine cone". You will also learn why this woman's name is Birgit :-).
Special "Historix" guided historical Freiburg tour "City, Gates and Storytellers", including the world renowned cathedral. The tour will be followed by a lunch (local food) in the microbrewery Feierling (sorry, page in German only) resp. their beergarden (if weather permits). Luggage can be stored for the duration of the social event. Main station is in walking distance from Feierling.
In 1974 the Brazilian National Team used the Herzogenhorn football ground for training and accommodation during the world championship in Germany, it resulted in the 4th place.
